Ruh Kewra

Description: Once reserved for royalty, the aroma of ruh kewda has an expansive beauty. It evokes a feeling of prosperity, abundance and joy. Its essence is very compressed, so it must be greatly diluted to show its true aroma. Ruhs, like attars, are pure, steam distilled essential oils that are traditionally distilled in copper degs. They are not distilled into a sandalwood oil receiver, but simply distilled on their own. They contain only the essential oil of the single species, or group of species, that are being distilled. Most of them have been distilled in the same way, using time honored recipes, for hundreds of years or longer. The prices of these rare natural substances reflect the difficulty and time invested in producing them.
